The Oregon Veterinary Technician and Assistant Association (OVTAA) was formed in June of 2005.

Our mission is to promote the profession of veterinary medical support staff and foster recognition and understanding of the roles of Veterinary Technicians and Assistants in the State of Oregon.

What's New?

OVTAA Anesthesia CE October 19th in Portland

The OVTAA will be celebrating National Veterinary Technician Week with 6 hours of CE for assistants and technicians on October 19, 2008 8am-4:30pm.

Speakers will include:
Heidi Shafford, DVM, PhD, DACVA on "Anesthesia for the High Risk Patient and Large Animal Anesthesia"
Chris McCormick, RVT, LATG on "The Anatomy of the Anesthsia Machine"
Debra Hickman, DVM, MS, DACLAM on "Anesthesia for Rabbits and Rodents"

The CE will be held at Portland Community College's Rock Creek Campus
17705 NW Springville Road, Portland OR 97229 in Building 9.

The cost for the CE is $15 for OVTAA members and $20 for non-members and includes lunch.

Payment will be collected at the event. The OVTAA can ONLY accept payment by cash or checks only- no debit or credit cards will be accepted. OVTAA memberships will also be available for purchase the day of the event.

An RSVP is required for this event.
To reserve your spot e-mail patty.langasek@gmail.com no later than October 10th and make sure to include in your e-mail if you would like your lunch to be vegetarian.

Fall and Winter OVTAA Board Meetings

All members or interested parties are welcome at OVTAA Board Meetings.
Upcoming Meetings wil be held on:

Tuesday, October 21st at 7pm
Tuesday, November 18th at 7pm
No board meeting will be held during the month of December.
Tuesday, January 14th at 7pm

The OVTAA has a New Mailing Address

We are happy to announce that our association has it's own PO Box effective immediately. We are currently in the process of updating our membership materials to include our new address:
